Who hasn't dreamt of going into the African savannah to see animals in the wild?
Well, you don't need to travel so many kilometres. Because less than an hour from Madrid, we can make this trip to the heart of the jungle thanks to the proposal we are making today. The Safari is a natural reserve of animals in semi-freedom that the legendary Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente had the brilliant idea of starting it up in 1978.
If you like to see animals in the middle of nature, far from cages and glass partitions, stay with us because we propose you to spend the day in a fantastic place. In our car, we will be able to get close to animals such as giraffes, bears, lions, and a lot of animals that will be closer than ever. A unique experience in which we will also get to know some species that are in danger of extinction.

How to get to the Madrid Safari
El Safari is located in the Madrid town of Aldea del Fresno. On the Carretera de Navalcarnero-Cadalso de los Vidrios Km 22. It is very easy to get there.
Head in the direction of this locality, along the road to the marshes. It is then signposted with various signs. The address is Ctra: M-507 km 22, Aldea del Fresno. The car park at the entrance is free of charge.
What will we find?
From animals of the savannah that are loose in the wild. We can visit an Insectarium and a Reptilarium where you can see a python up to six metres in length, attend a exhibition of birds of prey with a golden eagle as a protagonist or one of the children's favourite spots: the animal farm with goats. Where children can feed them and interact with them.
Animals in Semi-freedom

The first thing that will surprise you is to see authentic animals of the savannah that are on the loose, in the middle of nature. The tour is done in our own vehicle or on a pneumatic train. We will have to stop more than once to see giraffes, lions, tigers, elephants, llamas, dromedaries, hippopotamuses, black bears, rhinoceroses, zebras, etc. Remember that they have preference!
A fun and original way to observe these animals in a semi-wild state and enjoy nature. Be careful because sometimes they come so close that if you have the window down, the head of an animal can slip in!
Carnivorous animals

More than 40 animals that you have never seen so close. From Bengal and Siberian tigers, lions, African hyenas, a pair of red lynxes, Iberian wolves, foxes, jaguars, pumas or birds as impressive as the Steller Eagle, the Andean Condor or the Snowy Owl.
Many of these animals have come to the Safari from the illegal traffic such as Talapoin monkeys, the green Tota, the Capuchin, raccoons or genets. Here they find a new home, albeit in captivity.
Rincón de los Mansos

At the Madrid Safari, children will be able to interact with farm animals such as this group of friendly goats that they can feed and touch safely. It is, without a doubt, the favourite place for the little ones.
Birds

The star show of the Safari is the exhibition of birds of prey, an activity inaugurated by Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente in 1978. We can watch a series of flights of birds such as eagles, vultures, hawks and owls and learn about their characteristics and behaviour. For example, we will have the opportunity to contemplate the flight of one of the fastest eagles in existence, the Steppe Eagle, or the largest eagles such as the White-headed Eagle. And if you want to know which animal holds the speed record, don't miss the demonstration of the Peregrine Falcon, it will leave you open-mouthed!
Reptiles

This is another of the Safari's must-see areas. The pavilion displays more than 60 different species of reptiles, amphibians and arthropods from around the world. There is a larger area dedicated to reptiles, with several terrariums where you can see from boas, anacondas, monitor lizards, panther chameleons, turtles and the impressive python. of more than six metres in length. We will also find some of the most venomous frogs, such as the Dart Frog. The facility has recently been remodelled to transform it into a space faithful to the natural habitat of each species.

Outside the pavilion, during the summer months, we can observe the Mississippi alligator pond, iguanas or giant tortoises.
Other activities
This centre offers its visitors other activities for a great family day out.

Pony Rides What child doesn't like to get on one of these friendly animals and go for a quiet ride? Well, here they can do it in any of the 4 ponies that await them in this Safari.
Karts. If your children like speed, they will enjoy driving one of these special cars. And they have thought of all ages. Because the little ones can get into a two-seater vehicle with their parents. And if they are not so young, they can drive on their own.
