As of today, the Community has a new Green Route to discover the forest park of Valdebebas or Parque Felipe VI.<\/strong>, The starting point is the \u00c1lvarez de Villaamil light rail station on the ML1 line, or from the Valdebebas Cercan\u00edas-Renfe station on the C-1 line. These two stations can be taken either as the starting point or as the end point of the route, creating a circular route.<\/p>\n The Regional Minister for Transport, Housing and Infrastructures, Pedro Roll\u00e1n, presented the new route this morning, cycling part of the way, and recalled that \u201cthe creation of the new green routes is one of the actions being implemented by the Community of Madrid to promote and develop the combined use of bicycles and public transport in the region, as well as to promote the use of bicycles as a healthy, ecological, efficient and complementary mode of public transport\u201d. Under the name \u201cValdebebas Green Route<\/strong>\u201dThe Madrid Regional Transport Consortium proposes a tour of this space that runs through different points of interest such as the Felipe VI Park, the Real Madrid Sports City and the upcoming T4 terminal of the Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas Airport.<\/p>\n The route runs along well-marked tracks and dirt tracks in the interior of the Felipe VI Park.<\/strong> and is excellent for walking, jogging or mountain biking. This park is a space that stands out for its vast extension of 470 hectares, almost three times the size of the Retiro. Its ground plan, seen from the air, resembles a large tree. Some of its most attractive elements are the wooden lookout tower, the themed areas and the terraces, a series of landscaped platforms with cascading waterfalls.<\/p>\n Information on the 15 routes designed to date can be found at the Metro or Cercan\u00edas stations from which they depart. There, users can find out about the characteristics of the route; kilometres of the route, degree of difficulty and its profile, which are divided into walking, adventure or sporting, so that each user can decide which is most interesting to do or which is best suited to his or her physical condition.<\/p>\n Information on the green routes can also be found on the websites of the Community of Madrid (www.madrid.org), the Consortium (www.crtm.es) and Metro de Madrid (www.metromadrid.es) and through the CRTM's My Transport App. With this new itinerary presented today, there are now fifteen routes available and signposted: Metrosur, Ciudad Universitaria, Casa de Campo, Madrid R\u00edo, Monte de Boadilla, Parque Juan Carlos I, V\u00eda Verde del Taju\u00f1a, Parque Regional del Sureste, Anillo Verde Ciclista, Monte del Pilar de Majadahonda, las Presillas and Valdelatas, Parque Forestal Adolfo Su\u00e1rez - Casa de Campo, Arroyo Meaques and today's route, Valdebebas.<\/p>\n Combined use of cycling and public transport<\/p>\n In addition to this initiative, with which the regional government aims to promote the combined use of bicycles and public transport, one of Cristina Cifuentes' electoral commitments, other proposals include the installation of bicycle parking facilities at public transport stations, such as those presented by the president at Colonia Jard\u00edn station and Puerta del Sur; the creation of a network of bicycle routes; the integration into the Public Transport Card of the different public bicycle loan systems existing in the Community of Madrid; the promotion of public transport access for cyclists to Ciclamadrid and the necessary regulatory changes to encourage the integration of bicycles on board public transport network vehicles.<\/p>\n
